Painting! “What a sorrowful and deadbeat pastime”, others might secretly believe, but for Simone Talla it is as lively and as fruitful as it gets! She has been delving into the intricacies of her soul side by side with Art since 2009. The inspiring land Cameroon that saw her first steps, gifted her the energy of her ancestors which transgressed through her drawings. The serenity of her daily vibrations was brought to life with a pencil just recently turned into a brush. Her migration to the western land, has introduced her to the French impressionist Claude Monet, the German visual artist Gerhard Richter and Art house 23, a class taught by JoAnn Gilles. Since then, Simone has acquired an elaborate brush work combined with an admirable texture sparked by the palette knife and the ability to convey an undeniable boost of emotions. Simone’s desire is to expose an illusion of reality that is for the mind to ponder upon not the eyes, to erase the Color and represent just the Being.
Simone has enjoyed the textural marks of palettes knifes on portraits which celebrate her “expressive power freed from description”. Lately, Simone has been working with yarn and fully embraced the freedom of movement this specific material brings. Each one of her painting pushes you to grasp that lost diamond of hope ingrained in the soul. Please look up and find it!
